2-Ethoxy-1-ethoxycarbonyl-1,2-dihydroquinoline (EEDQ) is a mixed anhydride condensation reagent mainly used for solid-liquid peptide synthesis and amide bonding in APIs.EEDQ can be acylated without the addition of a base similar to CDI. EEDQ is a cheap and widely used reagent, and acidic aqueous solutions can remove the by-products (quinoline, ethanol). In addition, EEDQ can be used for esterification reactions, which can be carried out with all kinds of amino acids and complex carboxylic acids and has a promising application.
