2-(7-Azobenzotriazole)-N,N,N',N'-tetramethyluronium hexafluorophosphate (HATU) is a urea-positive peptide condensation reagent mainly used in solid-liquid phase peptide synthesis and the construction of amide bonds in APIs. HATU was first prepared and used in condensing carboxylic acids and amines in 1993.
HATU is a highly efficient condensation reagent with a fast reaction speed, mild conditions, and no easy racemization. It can react well even with large-site resistance substrates and is widely used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates.
